If you have fled from your native country to the safety of the United States or entered this country lawfully but are too fearful to return, Asylum may be an option for you. Ideally, applications for Asylum should be filed within your first year of arrival to the United States, there are, however, some exceptions. The Asylum process can be done either before an Immigration Judge or through the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Changes in your former country or your life here in the United States can create an exception to the one year filing deadline. Contact our office to see if this is the right path for you.
